CERVICAL CANCER AWARENESS PROGRAMME AT SHANKRAIL BLOCK, HOWRAH FOR ANGANWADI WORKERS
On 23rd and 24th May 2023, AIM Foundation organised a Cervical
Cancer Awareness Program for Anganwadi workers in the
Sankrail Block of Howrah, West Bengal, held at the Jhorehat FCA Indoor Hall in
Andul. The two-day program aimed to educate and empower Anganwadi workers, who
play a crucial role in community health, about cervical cancer prevention,
early detection, and reproductive health.
Cervical
cancer awareness is essential for informing women about the causes, risk
factors, and preventive measures related to the disease. The program covered a
broad range of topics, starting with an overview of cervical cancer, its
causes, symptoms, and risk factors. Participants were trained in the importance
of regular screenings, such as Pap smears and HPV vaccinations, which can
significantly reduce the risk of cervical cancer.
